Translation Memories

CafeTran offers two different ways for storing the segments (sentences, table cells, headings etc.) that you translate:

  1. TMX files
  2. External databases

The quick and easy way to store your segments (often called Translation Units or TUs) are TMX files. These TMX files are created very easily when you start a new translation project (or even during a project).

Only when you work with very large collections of segments (TUs), consisting of several millions of segments, you can use external databases in order to save RAM.
