Spell-checking a large TMX file
Open the TMX in Edit mode via the Dashboard. After the TM is opened, from the Task menu choose List words with unknown spelling.
I've tested this with the 2014 DGT DE > NL, file size 1.43 GB, totalling 2087210 TUs, on a MacBook Pro with 16 GB of RAM. Loading took a couple of seconds. Generating the list with words with unknown spelling took about 3 minutes. The list contained 163100 words (many of them spelled correctly in other languages).
You can check this list in MS Word and delete all words that MS Word doesn't know either. Then you add the known words to the Hunspell custom dictionary for your language and start spell-checking in CafeTran. Now, only the "really unknown words" will be flagged.
This can be a huge time-saver.
