Paperbound dictionaries are useful, but even more so after having been digitised and converted into searchable PDFs. These PDFs will typically contain both the original scanned image plus a separate text layer produced using optical character recognition (OCR). These files can then be indexed in a [[Desktop search tools|desktop search program]] such as [https://www.dtsearch.com/ dtSearch] for quick and easy access to the data.

Michael Beijer: technical translator

About me

Hi, I’m Michael Beijer. I’m a Dutch-English technical/patent translator & terminologist.

I created this site to help fellow translators and writers who may be struggling with pesky terms. On it, I collect and systematise all the Dutch/English terminology resources I can get my hands on and present the data in an easily searchable format.

This site runs on MediaWiki software, which is the same powerful software used by Wikipedia. It's ideally suited to handle websites containing extremely large amounts of textual data such as Beijerterm.
