Michael Beijer: technical translator
About me
Hi, I’m Michael Beijer. I’m a Dutch ⇆ English technical/patent translator and terminologist with almost 30 years of experience. I provide well-researched, fluent translations from Dutch into English and vice versa. I am fully bilingual, having grown up speaking both languages.
Although I’m comfortable translating a wide range of subjects – from user manuals and audit reports to marketing copy and financial documents – most of my work currently consists of patents and technical material.
If you’re looking for a translator with almost 30 years of experience, exceptional research skills and expertise in the field of cutting-edge translation and terminology technologies, you’ve come to the right place!
Beijerterm
Correct and consistent terminology is critical in technical translation. I therefore maintain an extensive database of specialist terminology, which I present on this website in a systematic and easily searchable format. Beijerterm is one of the largest collections of specialist Dutch to English terminology in the world.
If you’re struggling with a pesky term, try using the search box above, or consult the Beijerterm index.
Beijer.bot
I’m currently building my own app called ‘Beijer.bot’ in the AutoHotkey programming language.
Beijer.bot is a visual dashboard providing centralised access to myriad tools I use when translating. The individual items are grouped into categories such as Text actions, Web searches, Bookmarks, Passwords, etc., which can be accessed via various interaction modalities (such as clicking on menu items, keyboard shortcuts and voice commands).
